On Wednesday last, St. Andrew's Church, Lower Whareama, was the scene of a very pretty wedding, the occasion being the marriage of Miss Emily Birkett, daughter of Mr William Birkett, of Blairlogie, to Mr Rolf Oscar Olsen, of Te Nui.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pale blue dress trimmed with lace... Miss Fanny Birkett, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and Mr Herbert Wm. Dillon acted as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. H. Sykes, vicar of the parish.

The church was charmingly decorated, the spring flowers showing to great advantage.

This being the first wedding in St. Andrew's Church, there was a large congregation present on this interesting occasion. After the ceremony Mr and Mrs Olsen received the hearty congratulations of a large number of friends, and later in the evening left for their home at Te Nui.
