Minutes of the Vestry meeting held in the Hall on 8th Sept. 1916

Present - Rev. Ashcroft, (chair), Messrs R.E. Maunsell, H. A. Nevins, D. & A. Speedy, H. Sutton, G. Groves, T. Dillon, H. Bennett, H. French, E.F. Jennings & Hancock. Messrs J. Tatham, J. Cripps & D. Bennett from St. Andrew's Vestry were present by invitation.

Minutes of last meeting were confirmed as read.

Propd. Mr Maunsell secd. Mr D. Speedy that A.J. Hancock write & enquire from Diocesan Office if the Accident Insurance Policy will cover an Acting Vicar.

The Treasurer read a report of his work to date which was approved.

Propd. Mr G. Groves secd. Mr Bennett that Revd Mr Ransom (Clareville College) be asked to take duties at both churches on two Sundays in each month @ ₤3-3-0 per Sunday (Carried)

Propd. Mr D. Speedy secd. Mr Maunsell that Messrs Hancock & Jennings be appointed a [?] to fix in a bath & 2 tanks complete and repairs at the Vicarage.  (Carried)

Mr Ashcroft stated he was going away as Chaplain with the 17th Reinforcements and he hoped at the next Annual Meeting the Parish would arrange to have only one Vestry for the whole Parochial District.

Propd. A.J. Hancock secd. Mr Dillon that the following be appointed to get new Subscribers to the Stipend Fund, Messrs H. A. Nevins, D.H. Speedy, G. Moore, G. Groves & T. Cripps.

Propd. Mr D. Speedy secd. A J. Hancock that Mr E. F. Jennings be given control of the Vicarage & grounds during Mr Ashcroft's absence. (Carried)

Mr H. A. Nevins on behalf of the Vestry wished Mr Ashcroft a good trip and a safe return to us.
