Vestry Meeting

Minutes of Vestry meeting, held in the vicarage, 3/2/09


Present Ven. Archdeacon Fancourt in the chair, Messrs Brading, Nevins, D.H. Speedy, Perry, G. Groves & T. Hancock.

The Archdeacon enquired concerning Title Deeds of Vicarage and as to amount raised towards repayment of purchase money, Mr Nevins reported the sum of ₤150-0-0 (being interest at rate of 5% to W.F.C.A.) had been raised, Mr Brading as Churchwarden reported that ₤61-0-0 had been expended in repairs on the property since it was purchased. Mr Speedy reported that the Vicarage property was vested in the names of Messrs Brading & Hancock as Trustees and that the Deeds were in the keeping of Messrs Gawith & Logan.

It was resolved to have a working Bee on Thursday 11th inst. at 9.30 a.m. to renovate the inside & outside of Vicarage and grounds.

The Archdeacon reported that ₤6-9-1 was owing for the period ending 31/12/08 to the assessment fund, the Treasurer reported that he had ₤4-18-10 in hand towards it including offertories to date, The Treasurer stated that he estimated the coming year's receipts for General Church Funds to be offertories

₤50-0-0 & Subscriptions ₤115-0-0 leaving a deficit of ₤35-0-0 to be provided for.

It was resolved to ask Messrs H. Morrison & G. Groves to canvas Langdale and the adjacent district, and to ask Mr Tatham to extend the canvas in his district so as to take all Church people in who are not subscribers.
