On Wednesday last a large number of friends assembled at Tent Flat, Te Nui, the occasion being the wedding of Miss Emma Caroline, eldest daughter of Henry Wise Leach, and George Daniel, eldest son of Thomas James Torrey, of Taihape. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty heliotrope dress, trimmed with lace. She was accompanied by her two sisters, Misses Maud and Ellen Leach, as bridesmaids. Mr Charles Richardson supported the bridegroom as best man. The service was performed by the Rev. J. H. Sykes, of Te Nui. After the wedding Mr and Mrs Torrey received the congratulations of a large number of friends. The toast of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by the Rev. Sykes. In the evening a dance was held, and was much enjoyed by a large number of young people. Mr and Mrs Torrey received a large number of useful and artistic presents.
