Minutes of Vestry Meeting held on April 1st, 1920.
Present
Vicar, Wardens, Messrs H. Groves, H. Maunsell, S. Holdsworth, T. Dillon & A Speedy.
Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Balance sheet
A provisional balance sheet was submitted by the Treasurer & approved.
Building Fund & Building
Mr Maunsell reported that owing to the excessive Tenders the building of a new Vicarage had been abandoned. He offered to continue to pay interest on the amount in hand at the rate of 5 1/2% & to have it ready on demand. The interest to be paid half-yearly, with a statement of accounts. Mr T. Cripps moved and Mr A. Speedy seconded that the offer be accepted. (Carried).
Mr H. Groves moved & Mr T. Dillon seconded that the legal expenses be paid out of the interest & that all payments have the sanction of the committee. (Carried).
Mr Cripps reported having secured Mr T. Bannister's house at Whareama for 12 months as a temporary Vicarage, together with 3 acres of ground. Rent 17/6 per week.
Mr Holdsworth moved, Mr T. Dillon seconded that his action be endorsed. (Carried.)
Mr Hancock moved, Mr H. Groves seconded that the Payment of Rent be a just call on the interest of the building fund, after preliminary expenses. (Carried).
Moved Mr Maunsell, sect. Mr Hancock that the Secretary be instructed to write to Mr Perry & demand delivery of the bath, that otherwise legal action will be taken. (Carried.)
Mr Groves moved, Mr Hancock secd. that the care of the vicarage paddock be left in the hands of the Building Committee. (Carried.)
