Vestry Meeting

2 April 1913

Minutes of Vestry Meeting held 2/4/[19]13 in the Vicarage.


Present Revd. Hands, Messrs Brading, Hancock, Nevins, G. Groves, R.E. Maunsell, Perry & D.H. Speedy.

Minutes of last meeting were confirmed as read.

Correspondence received from Young & Tripe stating that Deeds of Vicarage property were not in order & expressing their willingness to complete the Conveyance Deed to Duran [Dixon?] Bros as soon as the defect in titles was remedied by the Vestry's Solicitor -- it was decided to leave the matter in hands of Messrs D.H. Speedy & Hancock to settle.

Mr Hands returned thanks for the letter of congratulations sent him re his engagement to Miss Sutton & thanked the members for their kind work during the past year.

Propd. Hancock secd Mr Maunsell that a letter of thanks be sent to Mr F.W. Groves for his valued work to the Church (carried).

Mr Carter wrote re Insurance & enclosed receipt for Vicar's accident Policy to 11/5/13.

Propd. Mr Nevins secd. Mr Groves

that the state of our finances to be explained to the new Vestry & for them to devise means of settling all a/cs &c.  (Carried)

The members present personally inspected interior of Vicarage. 

Propd. Mr Maunsell secd. Mr G. Groves that Messrs D. Speedy & Hancock be empowered to expend ₤20-0-0 on interior of Vicarage (Carried)
