Annual Meeting of Parishioners held in Tinui Hall, 22nd April 1921


Present

Vestry as in minutes & about 20 to 30 others.


Election of Officers

The Vicar explained that the Vestry had been in office for two years. As the work of arranging for another vicarage had not been completed at the end of last year.  That he preferred to see some changes in order that others might share the burden, as well as the honour of the office. He had therefore asked Mr Cripps to act as his warden but had appointed Mr W. G. Groves.

Mr H. B. Maunsell was appointed Parishioners' Warden.

Thirteen men were nominated for the vestry & an election resulted in the following being appointed:-  Messrs H. Bennett, T Cripps, H. G. Groves, A. T. Hancock, S. Holdsworth, G. Moore, H. Morrison, H. Ryder, D.H. Speedy, A. Speedy.

Mr A. Schofield being unable to act as Treasurer & Secretary for the ensuing year Mr E. R. Perry was appointed.

Mr E. Schofield was re-elected Auditor.


Mr H. A. Nevins

The Vicar moved that this meeting places on record an appreciation of the services rendered by Mr H. A. Nevins to this Parish both as Synodsman & as a Vestryman, & requests him to continue to act as its representative as a Synodsman. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr Nevins, together with this meeting's hearty good wishes to Mrs Nevins & himself. Seconded by Mr A. Speedy & carried.


Balance Sheet

Moved by Mr Ryder & Seconded by Mr Moore that the Balance Sheet as laid on the table be accepted subject to audit.


Votes of Thanks

The Vicar intimated that he did not intend to move any votes of thanks but instead suggested that the men show their appreciation of what has been done by the ladies inside the Churches by themselves doing something to improve the outside.


Legacies

The Vicar announced that a legacy left by the late Capt. R.E.W. Riddiford of £250 to S. Andrew's [church], & that the interest was to be devoted to the upkeep of that church.

A further legacy of ₤4000 had been left to the Parish by the late Mrs Andrew, but nothing official had been received as to the conditions of the Bequest.
