Minutes of Parishioners Annual Meeting held 19/4/06
Present Revd. Sykes, Messrs Brading, Nevins, Maunsell, D.H. Speedy, J. S. & R. L. Langdon, J. Perry, F. W. Groves, & A. T. Hancock.
Minutes of last meeting were confirmed as read, on motion of Mr. Groves secd by Mr Brading.
Mr Sykes read a brief report of his work for the past year.
Mr. Speedy gave a rough statement of the Church's receipts & expenditure, he was unable to supply a complete account of the total receipts &c owing to Mr Tatham failing to send in a copy of amounts collected by him.
A. T. Hancock reported having received ₤2-10-0 from St Matthews as the first instalment on account of the Annedale Subscription.
Mr Sykes appointed Mr Brading his Churchwarden.
Propd. Mr. Nevins Secd. Mr. Maunsell that Mr F. W. Groves be elected people's Churchwarden.
Mr J. S. Langdon propd. that Mr Hancock be elected people's Churchwarden, A.T. Hancock declined to stand for election, Mr F. W. Groves was duly elected to the office.
The following were duly elected as Vestrymen
Messrs Nevins, Maunsell, D.H. Speedy R. L Langdon, McHutcheon, H. Morrison, J. A. Perry, J. Tatham, G. Groves & Hancock.
Propd. Mr Maunsell Secd. Mr Groves that Mr. Sutton be reappointed Auditor (carried)
It was reported that a contract had been let to Mr Benton to repair the chimneys in the Vicarage property for ₤8-5-0.
Propd. Mr Nevins Secd Mr. Perry that Mr. McIsaac be requested to pay the rent (₤4-15-0) due at once, also to pay the cost of repairs to 2 panels of fence and new gate post in Vicarage property (Carried)
Propd. Mr Nevins Secd. Mr Groves that those present (Messrs Brading, Groves, Maunsell, Nevins, R. L Langdon, Perry, D.H. Speedy & Hancock) guarantee to lend free of interest ₤2-10-0 to the Vestry for the purpose of repairing the Vicarage property. (Carried)
A. T. Hancock undertook to lend ₤2-10-0 for twelve months only.
Propd. Mr Maunsell Secd. Mr. Speedy that the above guaranteed amounts be refunded to the lenders as soon as funds will permit. (carried)
Propd. Mr Sykes Secd. Mr Maunsell that two offertories per year be taken up throughout the District in aid of the Vicarage property funds. (Carried)
Propd. Mr Maunsell secd. Mr Brading that Messrs Hancock, F. Groves & Speedy be appointed a committee to confer with Mr. McHutcheon re repairs to house and let the contract to Mr Benton to repair the Vicarage property price not to exceed ₤60-0-0 (carried)
Propd. Mr Sykes Secd. Mr Maunsell that a vote of thanks be accorded the Churchwardens for their work during the year especially to the retiring Churchwarden. (carried)
A. T. Hancock returned thanks for the compliment paid him.
