Minutes of Vestry Meeting held in the Church 27th April 1903, also Minutes of Parishioners meeting held same time.
Present
Revd. Sykes (Chairman) Messrs Brading, Nevins, D. H. Speedy, Perry, F. Groves & Hancock.
Minutes of last meeting were confirmed on motion of Mr Speedy Secd by Mr Perry.
Correspondence received from St Matthews Vestry enclosing ₤4-10-0 on a/c of the Annedale Subscription's, also copy of letter sent to Revd. Archdeacon Fancourt re St. Matthews.
Mr Sykes gave a report of his 4½ years labour in the District.
Mr Sykes appointed Mr Brading Vicar’s Churchwarden for the year, Mr Brading accepted the office.
Propd. Mr Speedy Secd Mr Brading that A T Hancock be elected People’s Churchwarden for the ensuing year. (Carried)
Propd Mr Speedy Secd Mr Brading that Mr & Mrs J. S. Langdon be thanked for their kindness in collecting subscriptions for the organ and that Mr Sykes Sec Mr Langdon re taking over the Organ for the Vestry. Carried.
Propd. Mr Speedy Secd Mr Groves that Mrs Owen be written to stating that our financial position will not permit us to buy her section at the price she requires. (Carried)
Propd. Revd. Sykes Secd A. T. Hancock that the best thanks of this Vestry be sent to Mr & Mrs Elder for their generous gift of Communion Plate in memory of the late Mr Austin Elder, the Vestry have received the same and warmly appreciate the feelings that prompted the gift. (Carried)
Propd. Mr Perry Secd. Mr Nevins that 2 dozen Coat hooks be got for the porch. (Carried)
Propd A. T. Hancock Secd Mr Groves that Mr Sykes get a cupboard and shelf for the Vestry (Carried)
