FRENCH-CRIIPPS
At St. Andrew's Church, Langdale, this morning, a pretty wedding was celebrated, when Miss Eileen Hilda Cripps, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Cripps, of "Sevenoaks," Whareama, was married to Mr Wynton Herbert French, only son of Mr and Mrs French, of Mangapakeha...Miss Jessie Cripps (sister) was bridesmaid...The Rev. B.D. Ashcroft as the officiating clergyman.
After the ceremony a reception was held in the Langdale Hall, at which a large number of guests were present. The young couple will make their home at the Mataikona Homestead.
On Thursday evening last Miss Cripps was entertained by the settlers in the Langdale Hall, and presented with a clock and bible. The bride did splendid work during the influenza epidemic, and is exceedingly popular throughout the whole district.
